June 19th
I'm sorry it's been so long. 2 whole weeks to be exact. So much is happened. Right now I'm sitting in a room, yea, a real room! It's circular, and on the top of a tower, my own personal tower. Yep. I'm living in a castle now. It's so gorgeous here.
The dragons treat me like some sort of Goddess, saying they've never seen a human before. It was long and hard work convincing them that I wasn't going to hurt them. Of course with Mioki on my side, it was hard for them to object. Let me start where we left off: touring the island.
We awoke on the morning of the 6th. I was excited, not even able to finish my kokomelon. (Mioki ate it gladly.) I had named those odd edible fruits, kokomelons. Anyway, the beach was very long, and went pretty far back... well for me, someone who had never been on this island. It was odd how Mioki knew everything. I never asked questions, it was probably just instinct.
So we spent a day scanning the whole beach, and by night fall we made it to the other side, finally. And not just the far side of the beach, we made it onto real land. Not sand, grass. It was amazing. I've never seen such grass, it practically glowed and shined all hours of the day.
A huge forest loomed ahead of us, and now also visible was a castle. Mioki called it Tarturo Weyr, also explaining the island's name was Tarturo Island. She said there were hundreds of other dragons and the best idea would be to head to the Weyr, touring later. Mioki thought it'd be easier if the human came to them and they didn't bump into her. Meaning me. At this point I felt a little afraid and 'special'.
Mioki led me to the gates of the Weyr. I was practically shaking. There were roars of sound inside. Mioki was excited, she said they were having an annual Dragon Meeting and that it was good they would all be there to meet her. Meaning me.
Mioki let out a screech, and the gates were opened. Everyone in the Weyr became silent when they saw me. Mioki tugged at my shirt, dragging me to the front, to a podium where a wise old dragon stood. He looked at me, scanning my every twitch. I instinctively bowed, having the urge to be sci-fi and say 'I come in peace.' But I refrained.
Mioki spoke loud and clear, "Elder. This is my friend, her name is Akrona."
The Elder answered, "What is she and why has she come here today?"
Now I ventured to speak, but I didn't know it till I recognized my own voice. "Sir... Elder... I became stranded here and am writing up journals of my adventures. I am here because Mioki said it would be best to meet you before you wanted to hurt me. I am human."
There was a gasp from all the dragons, no human had ever touched or tainted their beloved island...
I am growing weary. I am still tired from my long week. I will finish this entry on the morrow.
