Mitu sat, his claws and wings gripping on the kokomelon like some oddly shapped bat. He cracked it against a tree splitting it open easily. Mitu hungrily ate the inside of it and finished it off quickly. "Mm... fresh summer grown kokomelon!"

Takoe slowly landed right next to a nearby kokomelon tree. She leaned against it, but her weight was too much for the sapling, and it snapped in half. She sighed and gathered the kokomelons strewn about the fallen tree. She was getting far too old to keep moving around the island, but... she didn't really want to settle yet. "I suppose soon someone's going to bug me about that, but I can worry about it tomorrow," She said out loud to no one in particular. Takoe laid down on the warm sand, oblivious to the nearby Mitu.

Mitu looked at the newcommer, and smiled, "Hello there!"

Takoe looked up and turned to face Mitu. "Ah. A young tomodashi. Hi. This place is so niceon my old bones. Enjoy your youth while you have it, young one."

"Ah, are you the great Elder, the mate of Rincewind?"

"Yes I am, I see you know who the important people are!" Takoe laughed, a suprisingly hearty laugh for an Elder.

Mitu nodded, "Of course! You and Elder Rincewind are in charge of the whole council and are most important the the islands wellbeing!"

"You're quite the brown-nose, little tomodashi! What is your name?"

Mitu scrunched up his nose, "I'm sorry I respect my Elders very much. I have no reason to be a 'brown nose'. I'm Mitu."

Takoe chuckled. "Aah, I'm just fooling with ya, Mitu. It's good to have knowledge of those who make decisions. You seem rather intellegent for your young age. It's good to be that way, you know..." With that last remark, Takoe's eyes clouded, as though she were remembering something unpleasant.

"Thank you." Mitu went silent again.

Takoe took a large bite of one of the kokomelons she had surrounding her. That seemed to relax her greatly, and she said through a full mouth, "These kokomelons are the best thing ever! They're the whole reason I flew halfway across that blasted desert."

Mitu laughed jovially but didn't say anything for a few moments then he said, "When is the next Dragon Gathering? It is fall..."

"Ah, yes, the Dragon Gathering. I was afraid someone was going to bug me about that... We haven't exactly decided, because it's rather hard to get the word out to the dragons, but it should be soon. go bug Rincewind about it."

Mitu refrained from saying the obvious. Rincewind never left the weyr. Mitu wasn't one to go in there and bother him. Him being 'slightly' senile. He simply nodded and said, "Yes, okay."
